  • Course Identity

Information Technology Project Management course is one of the compulsory courses in the 2016 curriculum in the D3 Informatics Engineering study program which is held at level three in semester five. This course discusses how to carry out the activities of an information technology development project by utilizing knowledge in the field of project management. This course has a future goal so that each student can understand how to assess the feasibility of a project to run, how to carry out activities in a structured manner, how to plan, control, evaluate and make documentation.

  • Course Profile and History

In this course, students learn about Information Technology projects and their management. Through case studies, students are introduced to the types of IT projects (cases may be developed from Level II projects with the direction of mobile applications). Components that need to be considered in project work are objectives, time, budget, resources and so on that are needed in managing IT projects. IT project management stages starting from proposal preparation, continuing with the development planning phase to design, implementation, integration and testing of IT projects. This course has a credit weight of 3 credits. The emphasis of the lecture is on analyzing the needs and consistency in running the project, in accordance with the knowledge areas in Project Management Science studied.

The Information Technology Project Management course in this study program already exists in the previous curriculum and is still needed so that students have the ability to manage information technology projects, especially software development projects.

Project management is an advanced core course in software development. After students are equipped with an understanding of algorithms, web design, software engineering, interface design and database design, this course is a course that combines and manages the processes that students have learned in other courses (which have been mentioned).

  • e-Learning Based Course Learning Plan

This e-learning-based learning scenario will use the Flip Classroom approach, where students have been given complete enough content to read lecture notes (slides), then can independently work on assignments and quizzes. If there is material that is not understood, discussions will be held according to student questions in class. So that the class will focus on discussions on deepening the material. Discussions can also be done online by using the Forum facility whose topic has been determined.

To add insight into the content, external links have been provided that can provide a preview of the material.
