MATRICES AND VECTOR SPACES (CII2D3) ACADEMIC YEAR 2022-2023

COURSE IDENTIFICATION
Course Name: Matrices and Vector Spaces
Course Code: CII2D3
Semester: 3 (Second Year)
Credits: 3 Credits
Study Program/Faculty: Bachelor of Informatics / Faculty of Informatics

COURSE PROFILE
Matrices and Vector Spaces is a compulsory course for all students of the Informatics Study Program. There are four main topics covered in this course: Matrices and Linear Systems, Vector Spaces, Linear Transformations, and Eigen Spaces.
The first topic will be discussed in the chapters on Matrices and Their Operations, Determinants of Matrices, and Systems of Linear Equations.
The second topic will be discussed in the chapters on Vectors in Plane and Space, Vector Spaces, and Inner Product Spaces.
The third topic will be discussed in the chapter on Linear Transformations.
The fourth topic will be discussed in the chapter on Eigen Spaces.

COURSE RELEVANCE
This course provides students with experience in mastering basic techniques in algebra and applying them to solve linear system problems. In this course, students have the opportunity to work manipulatively with objects other than numbers, particularly matrices and vectors. Algebra is a branch of mathematics that studies structures, relationships, and quantities.

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER COURSES
Matrices and Vector Spaces is a basic course, with Calculus (already taken) as a prerequisite course.
