Brief Description
 

Welcome to the Financial Management class.

In this course, students learn to understand the basics of corporate financial management and make the right decisions to increase company value. To support an interesting and creative learning process, this course is also equipped with the concept of project-based assignments and case-based assignments. Sstudents will learn about Principles of Financial Management, Financial Statement Concepts and Analysis, Time Value of Money, Stock and Bond Valuation, Working Capital Management, Capital Structure and Leverage, Dividend Policy, Investment Evaluation, and Capital Budgeting.

By learning from this course, students are expected to be able to:

  1. Be able to identify financial management and investment problems(Course Learning Outcome – 1 [CLO-1])
  2. Able to provide creative solutions by using tools and methodologies to solve corporate finance problems, investment decisions, and funding decisions(Course Learning Outcome – 2 [CLO-2])

To pass this class, students should carefully consider the requirements below:

  1. Quiz (5%)
  2. Class Discussion (25%)
  3. Case-based Group Discussion (30%)
  4. Group assignments and presentations (15%)
  5. Midterm Exam (12.5%)
  6. Final Exam (12.5%)

In the Distance Education Program (PJJ) that you are participating in, for each lecture meeting you are required to attend (i) scheduled lecture meetings, and carry out (ii) self-study activities. Scheduled lectures can be conducted using 4 methods:

  1. Face-to-Face Lecture Meeting with Online Learning. This is a scheduled learning activity in the form of online face-to-face meetings through various video conferencing applications (google meet, zoom, cludx, etc.).
  2. Face-to-Face Lecture Meeting in the Classroom. This is a scheduled learning activity in the form of face-to-face meetings in the classroom at the designated Distance Learning Center (PBJJ).
  3. Synchronous Online Tutorial. Is a scheduled learning activity in the form of a discussion forum / conversation on the CeLOE LMS in a relatively short time (maximum according to the scheduled learning duration) and is carried out in real-time.
  4. Asynchronous Online Tutorial. Is a scheduled learning activity in the form of a discussion forum / conversation on the CeLOE LMS for a relatively long period of time (maximum one week) and is not carried out in real-time.

The case learning method will be applied in almost every lecture meeting. Read and study the given case well, discuss it in the discussion forum on the LMS according to the predetermined group. Activities in the discussion forum and collection of answers determine the assessment of case assignments.
